With 3 days to go till the cut off date of the Brick City auditions, shit has been heating up. Artist have been submitting the illest mixes left right and center. The amount of talent that has been streaming through our inbox and out our speakers is ridiculous. Its going to be a tough call getting the top 5.

So... we head deep in new material from guys sending us demos / production / live recordings ect ect from all around Cape Town and beyond. Its pretty exciting with less than a week till the end of the auditions and the response has been going nuts! The variety of music is also something to brag about as we getting stuff ranging from breakbeats, drum & bass, bassline to electro. We got a tough one coming when we gotta sit down and choose the winners and we feel we gonna need some help. This is where we want you to come in. Seeing Brick City is about the people, we would like your help choosing the winners by voting. What we will do is upload a selection of top mix's onto the blog and in response we would like you to vote on your favorite one. With this, the top mix will feature with an artist interview and possible signing to the brand.

Brick City was started in 2008 by two friends, two friends who had the same goal to start something new in the Cape Town scene. With this they launched their first string of events at Mercury Live every odd month until the end of 09. Through this many well known DJs emerged & featured and are currently well settled in the local night scene. Names like; El Gordo, Kennedy, Bruce Willis??, Ish & others. This is the mind set behind the brand as its about exposing the new blood, giving them a slot to express their musical styles through any genre of electronica. One thing for certain, dance floor mayhem isn't showcased through one style of music, so its encourage people come opened minded.

Since the end of 09, BC has been rather quiet, waiting... for its resurrection. Now half way through 2010 the time is right for its relaunch. At the moment auditions are currently underway and demos are being submitted. The cut off date is the 1st of June as the event is on the 11th (event details will be released after the audition date).
