& ???

The time has come for the next installment of BC and this month we're doing something a bit different... a whole lot different!
-
The plan is that we have asked people within the industry to come out and perform a once off set. This means that guys you already know will be performing different genres of music than what they currently play.
-
Example:

SFR (Sneaky F*&king Russian = Drum & Bass) X
SFR (Sneaky Funky Russian = Jack Beats Electro) ✓

Get the idea?

We also got guys who are involved in other forms of entertainment to come out and play.
-
Example:

Daniel Ting Chong (Graphic Designer / VJ) X
Daniel Ting Chong (Dj Chairman Mao) ✓

We feel this will add a new dimension and an exciting element to the night.
-
This doesn't mean auditions are long gone as we are leaving one space open for whoever we think deserves it.
-
...Demos will still be posted on the blog for you to vote on and we will gather this information on the closing date and work out the winner.
So again, we urge everyone to push and promote whoever they think deserves to win by casting a vote on whatever BC platform.
-
These are the rules::
-
1) Auditions end on the 23th.
2) Votes will be tallied and a final announcement will be made on the 24th.
3) All demos must be submitted with a soundcloud account.
4) Demos performed off software need to be controlled by a MIDI device.
5) Any form of electronica is accepted.
6) You must be 18 or over to enter. We would still like to hear your mix regardless so don't hesitate to send it in if you are under 18.

It that time again where we at the BC HQ knock our heads against the wall and try figure out a once off special event. Well, with a few bumps and bruises we came up with a very special concept for a one night show.

Its going to be a once off genre battle between the djs who will be representing their flavors within a time space of an hour and a half.
Line up as follows:

Brick City has counted the votes and are proud to announce the winners.

//

In no particular order they are:

IDIOTEQUE

BLITZKRIEG

Well done lads!

//

We received a record number of votes. Just under 700 to be precise and due to rules and regulations of BC we had to unfortunately disqualify one artist who came in our top 3.

Reason being is that we can only by law accept and publish talent over the legal age of 18.

-

There will always be another Brick City competition, so to those who fall under the above, please be patient and keep pushing. Your time will come, if not today, then soon.

//

With that aside. We are itching for Saturday night!

Line up and set times are as follows:

11:30 - 12:30 - Idotech

\\This is how we do it...//

Is it just me or is this Cape Town weather really F%&#ed up?? New strains of flu are being recorded and sending people home early from work. Outdoor festivals are amazingly rad then totally not as the wind picks your tent up and blows it 2km down south to no mans land. Things are just beyond me at this point and I want answers.

//

Alas, there is the internet and talent that weather cannot change. These two things are very, very important to us at Brick City. The mixture of human skill and techno-lo-gy... making the ultimate human being appealing to young girls and boys on weekend at early hours of the morning. This is what we strive for. An never ending quest to fulfill the young hearts and souls of the dancefloor.

//

Let us know what you think of these two lads. They recently hit us up with some new cuts.

You know what to do.
